I am in my seventh year of teaching as a school librarian in a PreK-6 school in upstate NY. I love the moments when I my students have an “ah ha” moment and finally get what I am trying to teach them. My passion is to enrich the lives of students who are less fortunate and try to eliminate as much as possible the disadvantages they were born into by virtue of being poor.
I have been married to my college sweetheart for over 25 years and have successfully (I think) raised 2 boys to be nice, young men. Both will be in college next year so I am facing an empty nest for the first time in 20 years. Hopefully, I can channel all of my empty nesting into providing quality instruction to my students and a happy home for my husband.
I am a lifelong Penn State Nittany Lions fan having grown up in Lemont, PA — a small town just outside of Penn State. I am also a proud 1990 graduate of PSU and try to get to at least one sporting event every year whether it be football, wrestling, gymnastics, or hockey. I love watching college football in the fall and am always sad when it ends in January.
